Ask him about doing an acidity/viscosity test on your oil. If he doesn't know what your talking about, don't fly in a plane he worked on (22 years in that field myself) A small amount of unburnt fuel will remain in an engine on shut down and get past the rings into the oil. Is his nose that good? If your really concerned have a leak down check performed (again he better know what that is) a better version of the old compression test. SAAB blocks are good stuff, 350,000 plus on my 80 and still running strong. One other possibilitiy, make sure you don't have a fuel leak somewhere, thats something a good nose should catch, and is a cause for concern, but ussually easy to fix.
