Hi,
I'm loosing it.....
I own a 1988 900 turbo 8v (apc & catalic converter) which has warm up
problems.
'cold starts ': revs up to 1200 rpm drops for a few seconds and then
runs for 1 - 2 minutes. then it starts to idle at 300 rpm ---> stalls.
Can keep it running by playing with the gas pedal. After 3- 4 minutes it
idles perfect. With warm engine when I start it , it revs up to 1200
rpm's and then drops shortly to 500 rpm's but goes right away ( with
small problems) back to normal idling...........
Changing the warm up regulator with an other (scrap yard did not make
any difference....could also be a bad one...
Any one any idea....
here is in fact my question:
I read a answer of Kevin K(mon 16 Jul 2001 at this BB) which helped me.
On my thermostat housing there are two sensorsr (without the gage
sensor).
- One has a red cap who has two green wires connected to thet.
- The other one has a connector to it with a green and yellow wire (it
has a long intern pin going inside the thermostat housing)
An other senor is the black cap sensor between the 2-nd and 3-th
injector. This one has a yellow and black wire to it.
Both the red and black cap sensor have cold and warm an infinite
resistance ( like a broken connection....This is bad isn't it?)
Can anyone tell me what the resistance vallues should be warm /
cold.....?!
If I undersoot the story of Kevin K correct then are the red and black
sensor connected in series. So the one that opens at last (red
one?)makes the other one redundent?
Thanks in advance,
Bart
