depends on how you calculate mileage. With gasoline it's miles per gallon or kilometer per liter but with propane or LPG or natural gas, you have to figure miles or km per gallon or pound of whatever fuel you're using and the car will inevitably get lower mpg since these fuels have lower heat content than gasoline (one of the reasons diesels get better mileage than gasoline cars is that diesel has more BTUs or Kcal in it).

That being said, you should get slightly better fuel economy in terms of miles per 10,000 BTU heat content or whatever with the LPG or natural gas engine if the engine has been optimized to run on the gaseous fuel. I.e., timing has been optimized, fuel mixture (not too big a deal with 02 sensors), and compression ratio has been increased.

Otherwise don't expect too much, other than an increase in the time between oil changes due to lack of liquid fuel contaminating the oil during startup, etc.
