You know this space is getting hot?

The weather here in the NW has been in the high 80's to high 90's. Typically the temp gauge in my 88 900T would rise to about 2/3 until temp fans turned on. This was the norm in winter and summer. Recently, the fans started coming on when the needle hit just about 1/2 mark. Coolant is less than a year old, no leaks, many hoses replaced, good t-stat. I thought it might be the temp sender. Did the check per the Bently Manual. When grounding wire, temp needle pegs. Soooo, put in new temp sender. With the new sender, the same thing is still occuring.
I can't tell if the fans are coming on sooner simply because of the outside heat, or if something is really wrong with the system.
Any insight would be appreciated.
