As the others indicated, the car is designed to be started w/ the gearshift in the reverse position and the clutch disengaged (pedal down).
If the car lurches when you start it even with the clutch pedal pressed to the floor with the gearshift in reverse, it sounds like the clutch isn't disengaging properly. You've either got some air in the clutch hydraulic line or the clutch master and/or slave cylinder is bad.
