One would have to at least know the Bosch part numbers to answer your question.
And even then, about the only way to tell would be to put the distributor in a [distributor] machine and check the timing as a function of camshaft rpm and vacuum/pressure.
Chances are if the numbers are different the centrifugal and/or vacuum/pressure retard curves are different too.
There is a volvo website

where you could post your Bosch part number and maybe someone would have the distributor curves (they'd probably need the year and model of volvo the part came from to drop into a tech manual and then find the distributor number).
Then you could post the particular saab you're talking about and maybe even its distributor number and someone may be able to find the Saab distributor curve.
But the whole question is kind of moot if your Saab seems slower than before....put in an OEM saab distributor advance unit.
