I've banged on the thing with my lead hammer and it won't move beyond the snap ring groove. The driver from the parts car pushed out with body weight.
When I was banging on it, the inner driver carrier bearing decided that it was going to push in a bit.
So, I'm planning to take a sawzall to the old inner driver and push the stub of the shaft and carrier bearing out of the side plate. Then I'll push in the carrier bearing and new (used) inner driver.
Should I use some Loctite to secure the race in the side plate?
Thanks, Anders. You've been a great help to all of us here on TSN.
