And I know what you mean about the color change, it's almost like it stains the Aluminum or something. This happened to me while using somethat heavey degreaser stuff. It clean good but for the most part it got to be mixed with water cuase it can be some strong stuff. I used some Purple crap also. What I did to remove the discoloration though was to wet sand the effected area. A little bit of 400 grit and a spray bottle of water will get it back off. Just scuff the area a little bit and it'll be gone. The surface are is discolored but, can be removed this way, kinda like removing dead/dry skin if you will. Think I did it in about 30 minutes and the area was about the size of my hand. Much better now.....
