OK 87 900T in DC with 113F registering on the beltway in wife's Audi.
Spent about 6 hours replacing the radiator cuz I didn't want to break the @#%$#% old plastic yet still broke one of the 4X.8M torx machine screws holding the fan housing onto the radiator. Plus I ended up sanding and rustoleum-priming and gloss black painting half a dozen places that showed up with the radiator out.

Anyway, their appeared to be nothing wrong with the old radiator...still clean after maybe 5-6years since it was replaced...no fuzz, no schmutz, no nothing visible through the upper or lower hose fittings or the thermoswitch. Waaal, shootfire, since I had a new one ready I put in the new one, flushed the living heck out of the engine, and installed 5qts of Mercedes yellow river antifreeze. The car still ran hot, about 3/4 gauge yesterday punching 1/4-1/2 red boost on the beltway, although typical +100F operation was, well, doggy. But the gauge was down from the red at least twice as far as before. New thermostat, yada yada yada. Runs fine in cool weather, so maybe it's not the cat...)

So I guess it's finally time to check out the by-now must be fused catalytic converter (250K on car and OEM cat)...I always wanted a free-flow cat....is there a spud or pressure port ahead of the cat to check out the exhaust backpressure on stock Saab turbo exhaust systems?

BTW...I have a slightly used, to all appearances, even thought it's five-six years old, aluminum turbo radiator for 900. Anyone want to come by and pick it up (FREE) give me a email in the Silver Spring, MD area. Not going to mail it!
