Hello. The check engine light on my 1986 900S Saab (VIN YS3AC35D8G7022282) blinks four times and then pauses and then starts again. If I accelerate the car, the same blinking pattern goes faster. The car operates normally. I don’t detect any engine problem while driving it. I read on the Haynes manual that 1988 and later models are equipped with a memory facility for storing detected faults. Strangely, even though my car is from 1986 it has the same test socket as the manual illustrates it. Nevertheless it does not seem to be functional. My mechanic checked for possible solutions but we are just guessing. I even changed the catalytic converter which was due, but the problem goes on. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you!
