Unplug the connector in the fender well right near the driver side "A" pillar, just in front of the door hinge. The connector has 3 wires in/out ("brown and white, blue,and brown wires on one side and green and white, yellow and black on the other")may vary according to townsendimports.com tech documents.
But that's really a wimpy solution. Why not just fix the lock mechanism in the rear hatch. Open the hatch and remove the vinyl cover and check out the lock motor and linkage. i'll bet that a general bolt snugging, linkage lubrication and possible adjustment of the threaded linkage rod will fix the problem. Also inspect and clean the electrical connectors to the hatch lock motor.
