I think that the Autometer gauges are too large to fit where you want to put them. They will also look out of place. They're more at home in a race-preped SS 396 than a Saab.
I bought a voltmeter and an "electrical" oil pressure (w/sender to also continue to use the idiot light as well) from egauges.com. The electrical oil pressure gauge merely runs wires into the interior, so, there are no fluids like a "mechanical" unit would use. The sender to use the idiot light is rather large and required a separate threaded adapter for the 14mm threads on the oil-filter housing where its installed.
You may be able to find a two or three 2 1/16" gauge template to install where you want, but, I installed the gauges in the cubicle in front of the shift lever. I wanted to keep the radio in the upper dash and also keep the equalizer. This installation takes up 1/2 of the cubicle's opening, so, I can slide letters, sunglasses, etc. into the bottom half.
How I did it? I made a wooden template, drilled two 2 1/16" holes, covered it with a thin layer of foam (used 3M's vinyl adhesive), and covered that with a piece of scrap black vinyl (again, 3M's adhesive) that an upholstery shop gave me. I used VDO's "Vision" series gauges; they're black and have the same look as the rest of the dash. Non-Saabers think that it looks like it came with the car.
