you're not working hard enough. Glad you pulled through.
Don't feel bad about the error, the first time I replaced CV axles and ball joints I was working at my brother's house. It was also 95 degrees and terrible humidity. After 4 or 5 hours I had everything replaced and going together well when my little niece comes up to me and asks to help her get something out of the pool. I figure I'm the only adult outside, I should check on the kids. Solve their problem and then my sister in law starts with dinner will be ready soon. So I start rushing the button up process and pull out of the garage for a test drive when one wheel cants to the side and the car lurches to a stop within three feet. Seems I was interrupted just before I put the big nuts on the ball joints and never noticed because they are not really visible with the hub back in place. The upper fell out with the first movement. Could have been worse, took a couple of hours to correct it all and I really learned a lesson. I know its not the kid's fault but now I know why Dad used to yell when I was a kid, be a nice guy and get distracted. Oh well, the war stories make the improved ride feel all that much better, but it points out the risk of DIY projects - too much information, prep time and check and recheck time is never enough.
