To get the foglight switch out, use a small slotted (or flathead, if you prefer) screwdriver and *gently* pry it toward you. Bending two paperclips to have a slight hook at the end and slipping one in on each side (like radio removal keys) might work too, but I just thought of it and haven't actually tried it.
I've got a spare foglight switch; if you can't find one easily, drop me a line.
Can't help on the rear lights since I've only messed with hatchbacks and it sounds like you have a trunk, but I'm betting if you pull the trim it will become readily apparent. Far as I know, you're on the right track with replacing a bulb to cure the fast blink.
