Can't get power to compressor after conversion. (92 900S 3 dr hatch-5spw/153K)
I replaced A/C hoses, exp valve and rec drier, took compressor off and drained oil, then had shop pull vacuum and recharge with 134& oil. System is holding charge & no leaks. Shop couldn't get compressor to come on although compressor DID work for me before the ac parts replacement. I have tried trouble shooting the AC system acc'd to Sweedish Wrench and Townsand & have done diagnostic tests to:
rec-drier-bridged contacts-no effect on compressor
temp cut-out on upper radiator hose-bridged those contacts, no effect
ran hot wire from battery (+) to compressor, compressor DOES come on
ran tests on "H" relay all ok, swapped out with know good one-no effect
checked all fuses-all ok
checked dash AC switch ok, swapped out known good one-switch ok
Can't find temp thermoswitch, (is it under passenger side dash or in engine compartment by evaporator?) so haven't checked that one. Bentley illustration seems to have it by PS reservoir. Other than that last test, I'm stumped. Cool air does come out of vent when you bridge H relay at 60 & 87b and hose fittings going to evaporator do get cool and form condensation. It's something electrical preventing system from getting power. However, I can't find it. Any thoughts?.
