88 900T - When I got the car two years ago one of the first things I did was to flush the transmission fluid and replace it with redline MTL. I did all this two years ago at 125K. Flash forward to this weekend and I decided that at 150K it was time for a fresh batch. I drained out the old MTL and it came out looking dark brown with a purple tint which was in sharp contrast to the bright red color it was when new. After I fill the transmission back up I took it for a ride and was shocked. I had forgotten how smooth the fresh MTL had been. The shifting with the old fluid was much more notchy. Over the course of the two years it was in there it really broke down. From my experience it would seem that two years or 25k miles is two long to leave a transmission lubricant in service. I plan on changing it yearly in the future.

P.S. I know that people can have motor oil analyzed by a lab but what about transmisson fluid?
