I agree with Nathan's recommendations. Check the vacuum lines, and consider a nice roll of silicone tubing. (Cool colors, but any new stuff will do)
The AIC might be worth a clean up: take it out (so much easier on a 900 than a 9000) and clean the valve portion with something appropriate. After 100k miles, expect this working part to be totally black with carbon.
Blow it out or let it thoroughly dry in the sun, and getting carb-cleaner or such in the motor would be a bad thing.
My 900 has a staggering idle (almost stalls, surges a bit, almost stalls) which is exactly what the 9000 had. Cleaned AIC, and had more than a year of totally smooth operation.
vsfoxe, the idle should never hunt, stagger, stall or surge. With the age of these cars, expect vacuum leaks around gaskets or cracked pipes, and check the AIC. Remember, no single flaw in the vacuum lines might be the cause, rather a dozen small ones all adding to it.
The AIC is a lovely thing when it works, totally smooth idle under any conditions.
Hope this helped.
