My driver's side windshield wiper does not work. The cable that goes around the pulley on the wiper is broken. Dealer and local mechanics appear to be ready to clean me out with $300 repair. I can get the cable for $20 and I am trying to avoid the additional $280 expense!! Of course, I have no clue as to where the other end of the cable is and what I should do install it. This is not obivious just by casual visual inspection.

Do we need to remove the wiper transmission from the car with both blade arms? There are two bolts that seem to hold the transmission to the car body. I guess these are the ones that need to be removed?

Any input will help. If you guys recommend I will try to get the Bentley Manual. In the meanwhile, I am praying for no rain!!(it is not a good idea in the Northeast where water restrictions are in force)
