If you have been playing near the computer you could have accidentally unplugged the switch. We did once. Open the hood and in the fender(most cars near the vacumm bottle. Remove the vacumm bottle(2 screws). There is a huge rubber fitting that wraps around some wiring bundles that go from the fender area(near door) inside the car. If you remove the rubber boot the fitting for the switch is right there. Check that it is tightly connected.
