It is not a quick job, no matter how you look at it. Start by having the system evacuated if you haven't already. Don't go leak a bunch of R12 into my air. After that, remove the compressor, the lines, and the dryer from the front fender. You may wish to leak the evap core in place until you can find a plastic cover for it - otherwise you'll be sucking engine fumes into your cabin. Pull the front coils off last - they are a PITA. I think if you jack the car up you can remove it without taking anything else off, but I generally just remove the front bumper.
