I have a white 1991 900 4dr that I bought from a seller in the northeast, and it (of course) has rust on it, but only on one area of the car--the driver's door. It's around the mirror, the entire bottom edge, and there's a half dollar sized spot on the lower exterior panel below the moulding. I've spent hours looking for Saab-only parts places online and called a bunch of yards that might sell replacements, and I only found one (milehiautobody.com) that has the white driver's door I need. Trouble is, they want $250 plus about $80 shipping for it, though it is reportedly in excellent to near mint condition.

But then I just learned recently that I can get a 1991 red driver's door from a private seller, no rust, but a few small dings, for $50. And, since it's available about 3 hours from my house, I can go pick it up and I don't have to pay shipping. While it seems like a no-brainer, I am very concerned that an auto body shop will not be able to match the paint, or that the non-original paint job will be obvious when I look at the side of the car. Should I be confident that I can get it adequately repainted by a good shop? I'm assuming the paint job will still cost at least $100, so I'm up to $150-$200 already. Any ideas on what the better option might be?
