My son's 87T, base boost adjusted to 5.5 psig, still experiences big
swings in boost level during operation. He always runs 93 octane.
By my calibrated gage, I got a max reading of almost 12 psig during test
flogs. However during him driving to/from school (flogged), he says it varies unpredictably from 1/3 yellow to nearly in the start of red.

I have gone over the thing, adjusted base boost, replaced all vac. hoses & confirmed they aren't leakers, checked connection at the knock sensor & also removed the APC and used contact cleaner on both to assure good connections. New OEM hooter valve ,Bosch.

Only anomaly is the famous "clicking APC solenoid". It functions correctly
per the FAQ and Townsend checks. I read herein that the underdash pressure transducer is probably the culprit; however it holds vacuum and I even used my MiTvac to set pressures and take readings with my digital meter; all readings seem in correct range per Bentley guidelines, albeit with a bit of "flutter" .

Any wisdom, oh great one?
