Due to my tendency to take certain low-speed corners at 8 or 9/10ths on my daily commute, I wore out the bearing on one front hub from the heavy lateral loads. I had plenty of warning, though, even running along the Interstate. At higher speeds, it sounded like a B-17 or DC-3 was pacing you. At lower speeds, it had a light clanking sound, like loose parts, especially noticeable with windows open [no radio] driving along side a solid wall to echo the sound. Since I wasn't sure how badly the bearing may have froze in the hub [unlike the rear axle, the bearing is a cartridge with inner and outer race], I had Andrews [MN] press it into a used hub that I swapped in. I think it was at around 150k miles.
