To recap: my clutch started engaging close to the floor while driving, then the brake fluid light came on, then it went off and all was well. Then, the other day, I couldn't start the car because the clutch wouldn't engage at all (this was after it started fine and backed out of the garage no problem and then sat in the sun all day).
Anyway, I took a good hard look at the master cyl and it looks bone dry, as does everything all around it. The brake fluid reservoir is low. The front of the engine, however, is a wet mess. The pan under the motor is glistening, the top of the clutch cover is wet, the sides of the block are wet. Shoot.
So I guess this means the problem is the slave cyl and I have to unbuckle the entire clutch assembly? Any chance it still might be the master?
Here's hoping - & thanks!
