Same thing happened to me, I used the darker grease as it more closly resembled what came out with the old one and it seemed thicker than the baby diarea brown stuff. You can probably use either one, the threads here in the past said just don't mix them.
By the way, as long as you got that far, you should pull the inner driver covers, one at a time, and replace the seal and O ring to stop any leaks. Another tip, if your inner CV boot comes with a band that needs to be compressed to tighten the clamp (as opposed to a hose clamp), use a pair of tile nippers. It catches the high point just right and squeezes the band tight enough. Make sure the boot/clamp is properly settled between the two high spots that run around the outside of the driver.
Check http://www.twinsaabs.com for a pictorial. I just did the passenger side and it was not too hard. Also, get new ball joint bolts, they should not be reused and use permatex anti sieze paste on the splined shaft into the hub.
