backflush the radiator

I agree with Bill U... the radiator is loosing its ability to cool the coolant. But you might be able to backflush its internal gunk out. This helped my '91 a lot.
Drain the coolant, screw back in the petcock, remove the top radiator hose and the thermostat, replace the thermostat cover, then remove the top heater hose, turn the heater control to full heat, put a garden hose into the heater hose, and let it blast away. Let it run for a good while until the water coming out of the radiator is perfectly clear.
When finished backflushing, drain the radiator of its water, replace the thermostat, and the radiator and heater hoses, then fill with coolant in the normal manner, bleeding the system from the petcock on the thermostat cover.
You should notice better cooling after this.
