A 13 mm plug with a metal washer with blue plastic surrounding gasket is the preferred replacement over the 17 mm plug, which was prone to overtightening and resulting cracks in the oil pan. The nice think of Classic 900's are you can change the oil without jacking up the car or crawling under the car.

The oil drain is pictured in the owner's manual. I don't have a scanner at this computer so sorry for the lack of a drawing. You can see it by kneeling next to (slightly in front of) the right (port side) front tire.

Try pouring 12 oz (for a bigger filter like Mann W917, AC Delco PF-13, or, God forbid, Fram PH-16) before installing it. The smaller filter like the Fram PH3614 (# correct?) probably won't hold 12 oz. of oil.
