Flip the rear seat bottom forward. Is there a black box (no blue label with a bunch of leds, just a black box) screwed to the floor under the cross support? If so, you have a late model 'Saab guard' alarm. It is the same base unit as used in the 92-94 CV, but with keyless entry. It can be set up to be 'passively armed' by just locking the driver's door. It is just OK. I got mine with both remotes and was able to make it lock the doors (replaced switch in driver's door with a motor and rewired a little) and flash the turn signals. If you want keyless entry, you need the fobs AND will have to wire in a motor on the driver's door. In your situation, I would get a new alarm with keyless entry. I looked at a CrimeGuard 328i and felt that it was probably a good alarm and was compatible with the Saab lock module. Since the SaabGurad is already wired in, you will have an easy time putting in a newer alarm. The newer ones are better and the 100.00 would be better spent on a new alarm IMO. If you do go this way, let me have your old one as a spare for mine...
