Ari? I tested 1990 AMM: hi volts (11.8V!) at pin 3&5?>

Ari, (and anyone who can help):
Hi. This is an update. I posted a few days ago about AMM on my Mom's 1990 900 base (LH 2.4, 16V, of course) and got a lot of good responses. It has the morning "mood-swing" hunting idle (from stall to 2000 RPM oscillation), that is, until 60 seconds or maybe 2 minutes after start-up. tThen, all gradually has become well, meaning the idle speed gradually smooths out to 900 rpm or thereabout.
I suspected the Air Mass Meter, after reading many posts here. The AMM glowed, however, during the (4-sec. after shut-off) burn-off tests! That's why I asked, in my previous post that day, if glowing AMM could still be "bad," yet wire intact. Ari said YES, it could be bad and gave me some voltages to check at pins 3&5 of AMM wiring connector, AMM still connected w/engine running, probing back of connector plug.
At idle, at pins 3(+) & 5(-) with my digital voltmeter, I got (negative) -11.85 volts, meaning that pin 5 was positive, not negative, and vice versa. Ari said around 2 volts at idle was numbers for a good AMM!
When revving the engine, I got it to dip to 11.20 volts or so (11.05, once). , which is NOWHERE near what Ari said should it be. He said 3 volts (approx.) when engine revved! What's the deal here? I am completely sure I checked the correct pins and plug WAS plugged into the AMM! Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for helping me understand LH,
