Is it worth saving?

I have an 83 8V turbo, sunroof car that has tranny problems. I thought it might be linkage adjustment but alas, I fear it may be worse. I've had two Saab places and one salvage yard say trans is gone. Even though the trans is gone the slavage yard doesn't want it unless I just want to get rid of the car. I just put a new clutch master, brake booster and brake master from Sobstory in it. I have no means to afford a tranny rebuild based on the figures I've heard here and from the mechanic. I could R&R well enough but the cost of the unit is outrageous compared to the $125 I got my used Honda transmission for!
Should I scrap it, sell as is for parts or fix it?
