Check for a bad turbo bypass valve. When you back=off the throttle this bypass valve bypasses the turbo boost pressure back to the turbo inlet so you don't get an engine surge when you again open the throttle. The valve is operated by a diaphram using manifold vacuum. If the diaphram has a leak, air will leak into the intake manifold when you let off the throttle, leaning the mixture out, possibly causing the engine to stall. To check, suck on the vacuum line going to the bypass valve and plug it off with your tongue...if it won't hold vacuum, diaphram is bad and valve needs replacing.
