Do the whole wheels - for touch ups it's too "metallic", meaning its sparkley silver verses the matte, blended silver of the wheels. Prepping, spraying the whole wheels, sanding lightly (and washing after the sanding...my mistake) between coats and before clear coating. Do two or three coats of a wheel paint clear coat to seal and "tone down" the metallic fleckiness (word?).
I cleaned up the edges of some super aeros this spring, masked off at the 90 deg bend from face to inner wheel. Used small metal files and my dremmel to take out all the curb rash. The difference is noticable up close, but looks great from a distance - especially the rash free edges. Go for it, but with every paint job, the key to the outcome lies in the prep.
