the question is how loud? If I have the sunroof open, you can't hear it.
If the radio is on, can't hear it, side windows, etc. Only with the whole car closed & stereo off, you hear it, and it does seem to eminate from behind the EQ unit in front of the shifter. Most definitely vanishes with no load.

GB Oil has been changed by PO, as it is very clear. I did notice yesterday during another roadtest (lightfoot on the turbo, you guys have me scared) that 2nd gear nearly popped as soon as I moved the shifter forward to 3rd. Would this relate to the 1-2 shiftfork? I've read the horror stories on this BB about pinions, just haven't been there myself. Now with 4 of these cars I guess it was statiscally improbable that I not end up with at least one needing bearings!

Does the 90 have a screen? I pulled the diff cover off my 87T and there was no screen, just the magnetic plug.

How much pinion shaft end play is acceptable? I can put an indicator in there with mag base and get a number.
