May I jump into this thread with a question for you learned folks? Bentley says that voltage at the 1 and 15 terminals on the spark coil of my 86 16v non-turbo should start at 6 volts when the ignition is turned on and drop to 0 volts in a few seconds. If it doesn't, you should replace the IGNITION AMPLIFIER. Mine just sits at 3.3 volts, but the car runs fine WHEN it runs.
Question: Could the IA be the cause of my problem, rather the Hall sensor?
