My 85 900t just started to quit shifting into 2nd. I like 2nd gear. I just dislike my car at 5000+ rpm waiting to shift into 3rd. Ok well I will let you know what happened to get it where it is now.
My 85 900t drove fine for about 10,000 miles. It then had problems of overreving to around 4,500 rpm's every once in a while when going up a steep hill but overall seemed like a good transmission. Now after an additional 10,000 miles it started to over rev and have a hard time desifering between 1st and 2nd gear on almost every steep hill (4.500). (car has 200,000 on it) I ended up putting some fluid called (lucus oil) - Supose to help the tranny. It now will just skip 2nd gear whenever the transmission is really hot.
I am wanting to sell the car in another month because my "new" 93 900s will be all ready to drive :-) The car is in exelent condition and should be worth a decent amount but i do need to do something with the tranny first. Any ideas. Flush fluid - rebuild job - ect... I am comfortable doing a rebuild after I get my 93 up and going. - I am almost done with rebuilding that standard transmission. But I don't want to spend tons of money on a car that is going to be gone in another month or so. What is the average price for a auto transmission rebuild on a saab?
Your ideas are appeciated...
Thanks
Adam
