I replaced the starter on my Saab about a year ago, and it was working fine until yesterday. I go to turn it on, it starts, but it doesn't stop turning over. I tried turning it off, it was still turning over. I pulled the key out, it finally stopped. Sometimes when i drive it, the starter just starts turning over. The brake light comes on. Also, it only seems to happen when I'm accelerating hard. This morning I was easy on the throttle and it never happened.
Also, this starter problem is often accompanied with some belt screeching. This just started happening also. Coincidence? Let off of gas, screeching stops, but it keeps turning over.
Today, trying to show my father the problem, I accelerated, got it screeching, then turning over, but when I was trying to stop the starter, I couldn't. Took key out, tried to stall it (all the lights came on, the car kinda died after awhile, but it was still turning over.)
Thanks in advance --
