After 2 dead battery episodes within a year (both my fault, no need to discuss further) i decided to get a portable jump starter with a rechargable battery to keep in the trunk.

I got a low end model ($40) which is 12V, had maximum starting power of 300amps, and a capacity of 7amp/hour.

I don't know what these mean really, i just want to know if this is sufficient to start my car if i ever get stranded with a dead battery.

I haven't charged it yet, so i can still return it if you tell me this is a piece of junk and won't help me in an emergency situation.
