It's a simple matter to fix. I'm guessing you disconnected the clamp side of the shifter coupling rather than dealing with the taper pin. If that's the case, you need to do the following:
o Undo the clamp again
o Put the transmission in 4th gear - just center the selector rod and push it straight into the transmission.
o Pull up the shift boot, and remove the forward portion of the lower center console - just two torx screws
o In front of the shift lever itself, on the tower housing, you'll see a pin-hole. Drop a 4mm or 5mm (can't remember) allen wrench into this hole - you'll have to fiddle with the shifter to get it to drop in; obviously, it should be somewhere around 4th gear that this happens. If you don't have the allen, use the largest nail you can find that will fit
o Tighten the coupler
