This could be water in the ignition system somewhere. One of the spark plug wires might be cracked and the cold makes the problem worse until the car warms up. Have you replaced the spark plug wires or distributor cap lately?

Also, let the car sit overnight, then in the morning, remove all the spark plugs and check them for oil or water. There might be a small head gasket leak that is leaking coolant water into one cylinder. When you start the car, this water is forced out of the exhaust, and as the engine warms up, the cylinder drys out and starts to fire.
