I bought the '92 900T complete engine today for $500.00 and they said they will ship it to my shop for only $25.00 which seems like a great price. The engine compression is 175-180 which I was told is good by me shop. The engine has everything except the tranny. We are going to rebuild my '88 5 speed tranny with the pinion upgrade kit from Swedish Dynamics. My old tranny case will bolt to the new engine and I will have the mag drain plug which is convienent. I'm not sure but I thought I heard my mech say something about that we could put a filter in my case but I not sure if that's what he said. The guy from Swedish Dynamics told me that this pinion upgrade is stronger than the stock '89-93 pinions so that will be a nice upgrade. He said the smaller shaft on my tranny isn't prone to failure. I'm also having the power sterring rack replaced as it has a nice big leak. I tried the stop leak products which slowed it down for a few years but not any longer.

I would love to have an overdrive for the five speed or sixth gear for the tranny rebuild but I have never heard of this being done. I will ask the mech about it when I take the car in this coming monday.

I've been off the road for a couple of weeks due to tranny problems but I think I can get the car to the shop with the gears that I have left. I didn't want to spend this money right now but it will be awsome to drive this soon to be reborn and better Saab. I think we can tune it to 200 HP. That's going to be a blast! The shop is really busy right now so I may have to wait a few weeks for car back but oh well.

Let you know how the car turns out. Very excited!

Best, KB.
