Auto Wire - Diff Grade/Quality? And Fusing Q.

1. Any significant diff's in auto wire insul quality? Got headlights, fogs, and hardware/wiring diagrams in the mail - don't need 'gold standard', but wonder about quality of off-the-hardware-store-shelf quality in a hot engine compartment. Any recomm. brand or net suppliers (found a couple online).
2. Fuse Block: The kit fuses are 'heavy-duty' euro-fuse in-line type but with the 'screw-pinches-wire' rather than spade/ring connectors - don't like 'em. These go downstream of relays.
Thinking a nice tidy blade-type fuse block (one line in, 4 fused lines out; NAPA spec order part) would be more solid and would go just up stream of relays. Formula/how to guesstimate guage of main wire from alt to fuse block (E-code 100/70 IIRC and stock Bosch Pilot 150's forget bulb; 12ga wiring)? TIA,
