I just meant to say that the story about blaming it on the pre-pump sounded kind of like smoke & mirrors. A leaking pre-pump would leak into the tank, since the pre-pump is completely inside the tank.
Hoses & fittings differ from year-to-year, so what's likely to leak one year isn't always the same for others. Take them as suggestions & certainly if you can SEE the leak, then you know exactly where it is on YOUR car. ALL of these plastic & rubber hoses, tubes, & fittings are getting old and brittle.
