10+ years on the original hoses is pushing your luck, especially if you don't know how often the cooling system has been flushed.
Replacing all the hoses is a pain, but it's much less of a pain than a hose failure on a snowy night. It requires draining the cooling system, so you might as well combine it with a coolant replacement and a new thermostat.
The water pump hoses are a pain, and the only other really hard one is the lower radiator hose. But I'd worry about the lower radiator hose more than any other. These are all doable, probably easier to do, from above than from below.
I usually do a complete hose replacement every 10 years. It sucks, but it sure beats the alternative. Maybe I'm sensitized - I had a Sable (don't ask, just don't ask...) that would spit out a hose every year. It was a different hose each year, just for variety. A few times I was lucky, blowing up 1/2 mile from home, but the split hose at midnight on a zero degree night in the middle of East Nowhere was absolutely no fun at all.
