Bob,
Check the engine bay for any hissing noise (vacuum leak) while engine is idling. Also, inspect the vacuum hoses. If brittle, replace them. Preferably, use silicone (3.5mm, I believe is correct diameter hose) for the replacements, as this type is less subject to becoming brittle/drying out with age, which makes hose connections less secure and--voila--leak!
Also, if any hose (especially on valve cover) looks soaked through with oil (due to carrying of oil vapors which soak into rubber hose with time), replace it, too.
What's more, try cleaning out the AIC (Automatic/Adaptive Idle Control) valve, which controls the idle speed. Take off its two air hoses, unplug electrical connector by squeezing wire bail and lifting up, loosen its ring-mounting clamp, and it's off! (It might be going bad, but I'm not quite sure on that. Cleaning couldn't hurt.) If you need a photo of the AIC valve, its at my little website, linked below.
If idle swings were only on cold engine, I'd say look at AMM (Air Mass Meter), but not in your case.
There may be other things, hopefully the rest of the group can chime in.
Hope this helps!

Click here. Look for item #1 in bottom photo. It's the AIC valve.
