Paul,
I have a '94T-conv. Love it, it has been a great car. Bought it with 64K miles and now has 112K on it.
I replaced the top earlier this year. It's not cheap but I had everything done....headliner, main top and heated rear window....$1600.
It's really up to you if you want to do the headliner and rear window. If the window is not leaking you can get away with not doing it....same with the headliner. I replaced mine because it was faded. If you don't do those two the cost is alot less, probably about $600-$800 less.
I think there is a German made fabric that is OEM but, there is also a domestic made top that is same if not better quality and maybe a little cheaper. Some others can tell you more....
Find a shop that does top replacements. The dealer will probably farm out the job to one anyway.
Where are you? If in MA, try Allston auto tops. They do a bunch of SAAB's.
