Take the seat out of the car!!! It will be ten times easier, and takes an extra minute or two. I find that adjusting the seat hight up before unscrewing the two front bolts puts it in the right alignment to lift out easily.

I can run through the entire driver-side seat removal procedure for you-

1) unplug the seat heater.
2) rotate the seat height adjuster (the thing that would be immediately below your left thigh if you were sitting in the seat) all the way back, and then forward.
3) unbolt the two 6mm hex bolts at the front edge (I use a ratchet socket- an allen-key works, but not very well)
4) holding the front edge of the seat bottom in place, hit the release and flip the seat back forward.
5) remove the folded seat from the car.

It's even easier than it sounds. You'll love the way that you can remain relatively upright, and move the seat around to accomodate YOU.

I found that my bent-nose (90-degree needle-nose) pliers worked much better than my fingers for (un)fastening all of the little S-shaped wires holding the covers to the frames. I was able to re-use all of the hardware, which involved both skill and luck- it's easy to mangle something when pulling hard with a pair of pliers.

Make sure you know about the screw retaining the headrest.

Unhooking the S-hooks is much easier if you can squeeze the seating surface and the wire frame towards each other (easy to do if you've got 3 hands)

Patience and persistance are valuable. I think I was able to dismantle/rinstall my driver's seat in 3 hours or so, but I'd consider that nearly a best-case scenerio.

Good luck!
