First check for leaks and low fluid level. Clutch fluid resevoir is part of brake resevoir but is separated by a plastic partition and is closest to the fender side. If low you have a leak. Follow fluid pipe out of clutch master cylinder(under brake master against firewall) along the side of the engine to where it connects to the slave and look for leaks where pipe connects to rubber hose. If none there look for leaks out of flywheel inspection hole under car. If leaks are there, you need a new slave cylinder(do the whole clutch assembly...labor approx same). If now leaks there, go inside car and look for leaks against firewall up where the master cylinder rod comes through the firewall. If leaks there, replace clutch master cylinder.
If no leaks, you have probably blown a seal in the clutch master cylinder and the piston is just churning fluid...replace clutch master cylinder.
