Question: Are you using an original key, or a copy? If you have an original stored, try it to see how it works in comparison.
I ordered an OEM Saab key for an 89 SPG a few years ago, because the junk aluminum copies which came with it weren't any good. If I remember right, I got some numbers for the Saab Dealer from the hatch lock cylinder, it took 5-6 weeks, and it was reasonably priced. I would guess that OEM single-coded locksets would be expensive?
Consider a full set (good working originals) from a salvage yard. I've got 2 1990 SPG's, and all the locks work great with an original key, so I know that salvage yards must have some decent sets. I store the originals and use rubber-coated 1st generation copies. They work fine. The "all-aluminum" ones seem to last a couple days before they bend and aren't worth the $$$$$$.
