oil control rings and compression rings.. the name of them suggest their purpose.. bad compression rings can produce a good compression at cranking speeds especially if there is plenty of oil around them.. however at the far higher firing pressures when hitting the throttle the gases can blow by and presurize your crankcase.. leaks between a cylinder and an oil channel ie.. sump would produce a misfire and rough running symptoms.. its not very likely.. i think u have some bore/ring problems.. it does happen eventually even to saabs..
