Koni/Intrax install...one useful tip...

I installed some Koni adjustable shocks and Intrax lower springs today on my '89 SPG, fronts only today. It went pretty smooth for the most part except for the removal of the driver's side shock. I have a tool that holds the center shaft of the shock and keeps it from spinning but even with the 14mm wrench and PBlaster I couldn't break th nut lose. I went into the fender well and cut the top rubber shock bushing off with a utility knife. Then jacked up the lower control arm at the ball joint with a floor jack and a small block of wood. This pushed the shock shaft into the engine compartment and relased the tension on the nut. Came in with a deep 14mm socket and removed the nut without even holding the center shock shaft. I was preparing for the cutoff wheel but this was easier. Maybe someone's done this before.
The Intrax springs are so short I didn't need a spring compressor to install them. Just pushed them in and had to use the shocks installed to hold the springs in! I am using the 9000 aero rims with Kumo Escta 205-50-16s.
